PUN sind eine Groovecore Metalband aus Deutschland. Die verköpfige Combo hat eine 3-Song-Demo namens "Crunch" veröffentlicht; nach "PlusUltraNone" ihre zweite Demo-CD.

Ich muß vorwegschieben, daß PUN meinen Musikgeschmackt - sowie die musikalische Ausrichtung der DURP - nicht getroffen haben, denn hier steht Nu Metal mit kräftigen Riffs, starkem Groove und Einflüssen aus Alternative Rock-Gefilden auf dem Programm. Einige Male erinnern PUN an alte SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, andere Male finden sich leichte Hip-Hop-Einflüsse, die jedoch Genrefans kein Kopfzerbrechen bereiten dürften. Der Sound der Demo ist genausi in Ordnung wie die musikalische Leistung. Alle drei Songs bieten groovige Intermezzos (inkl. indischer Klänge während Next 2 impossible) aber auch druckvolle Jump-Around-Passagen.

Eine rundum ordentliche Demo fürs Nu-Metal/Groovecore Genre.

PUN are a groovecore metal band from Germany. This 4-piece combo has released a 3-track demo entitled "Crunch", which is after "PlusUltraNone" their second demo.
At first I must admit, that this music is neither my taste nor compatible to most DURP readers. The style of PUN can be described as powerful
riffed nu metal with lots of groove and slight influences of alternative metal in the style of old FAITH NO MORE or (this comparison fits better) old
SUICIDAL TENDENCIES. The vocals are more hip-hop-style than sung but that shouldn't be a problem for fans of this style of music. The sound of this
demo is OK and so is the musicianship. There are no technical errors to be found concerning the playing of instruments. All of these 3 songs offer
groovy intermezzos (cool indian-style during Next 2 impossible) which are suitable to get back to strenght in order to make
the next jumparounds through the room. A good demo - speaking in terms of the nu-metal/groovecore genre.
