Terry Brock "Back To Eden" english summary

Terry Brock hat sich ziemlich lange Zeit gelassen, bis er nun endlich sein erstes Soloalbum vorlegt. Immerhin ist er schon zwanzig Jahre im Geschäft, hat mit Kansas gearbeitet, mit der Band Strangeways zwei Melodic-Rock-Klassiker eingesungen und danach unter anderem mehrere Alben mit Michael Bolton produziert. Im letzten Jahr stand er dann für "The Sign" hinterm Mikro und nun also "Back To Eden", mit dabei unter anderem Bill Greer (Kansas) am Bass und Keyboarder Mark Mangold (The Sign). Zwei der Songs hat Jim Peterik von Survivor mit komponiert, ansonsten war am Songwriting unter anderem auch Joe Lynn Turner beteiligt - den Großteil besorgte allerdings Terry Brock alleine. Bei soviel Erfahrung und solchen Namen brennt nichts an - klassischer Melodic Rock aller erster Güte und es sollte mich wundern, wenn dieses Album nicht in vielen einschlägigen Magazinen am Jahresende unter den Top Ten landet.

Terry Brock took a very long time to release his first solo album, after all he is in the business for about 20 years. He worked with Kansas and Michael Bolton and released two melodic rock classics with a band called Strangeways. In 2000 he was the lead vocalist for the all star project The Sign - and now finally "Back To Eden", done with the help of famous guest musicians so as Billy Greer (Kansas) or Mark Mangold (The Sign). Most of the material was comosed by Terry himself, anyway also here he got some support, for example from Jim Peterik (Survivor) or Joe Lynn Turner, But the album not only features great names but great music too - very catchy melodic rock and I wouldn't be surprised at all, if this would be one of the top ten albums of the year for lots of lovers of these kind of music. 8 points
