The album will be released in the Polish version but having included there
three instrumentals and one English song (Led Zeppelin's "No Quarter")
Quidam hope that also their fans from abroad will find it attractive and

2002-04-18Nice Beaver news
On March 24, 2002, Dutch band Nice Beaver signed a contract with the British
progressive rock label Cyclops. The deal concerns the world-wide
distribution of their album 'On Dry Land'. The CD will be re-released with
slightly altered artwork, and may be followed by a new album shortly.

The debut-album 'On Dry Land' met with rave reviews and is already seen as
one of the best Dutch prog-albums of the beginning of this century. The
band made a big impression at the Planet Pul Festival and as the opening act
for the CD-presentation of Dutch progmasters For Absent Friends.

At the moment, the beavers are working on material for the new album. They
haven't felled their last tree yet! Their positive appearance and their
sense of humour and relativity ensure that Nice Beaver are here to stay.

Check the web-site regularly for the latest news.

2002-04-18News from the organizers of ProgPower 2002
The festival will be held on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 October, 2002. Again the festival will be held in Sjiwa, Baarlo, The Netherlands. At the moment we are negotiating details witha lot of bands, but the first 3 bands are confirmed now: EVERON (Germany), STONEHENGE (Hungary) and SUN CAGED (The Netherlands). As you probably know we already booked EVERON in 2000, but 2 days before
the festival they had to cancel because singer Oliver Philips was seriously ill. We thought it a good idea to give them a new chance and we are sure a lot of people will bevery pleased with this. Both STONEHENGE and SUN CAGED are pretty unknown bands at the moment, allthough they have already reached a lot of people through the internet. Because ProgPower Europe tries to offer a
good mix between known bands and very talented newcomers, we are very happy with these young bands, and we are sure they will not disappoint you!

2002-04-18DVS Records News
Right now DVS Records are preparing "Cardinal VII" by Norwegian band Ashes To Ashes. The music is a good mix of Progressive Metal, Gothic Rock and Heavy Metal. The band describes the music on this new album as Gregorian Metal, which actually is a pretty good description. Expect some heavy stuff in combination with classic piano parts to break the album.

Canadian Heaven's Cry is finishing the recordings of the long awaited second CD. Vocals are being recorded now, than the band immediately will start mixing all the stuff. You can expect a release during the summer months.

Dutch band Silent Edge will enter the studio next week, they will record and mix the album in 4 or 5 weeks. The album will be released in September. As you probably will remember, Silent Edge has won the Metal Bash, the most important contest in The Netherlands organized by Aardschok Magazine (www.aardschok.com).

2002-04-18Rockdetector Metal Guides
11'573 BANDS AND COUNTING....
Published in September are the next two volumes in the Rockdetector Extreme Metal series of books
by Garry Sharpe-Young- 'Rockdetector A-Z of Thrash Metal' and 'Rockdetector A-Z of Doom & Gothic
Metal'.
Following this Rockdetector is releasing two mammoth 800 page reference works: 'Rockdetector
Classic American Rock' & 'Rockdetector Classic British Rock' for late 2002. These works will
cover all the greats and the bands that made a sizeable impact upon the scene. In 2003 the
'Rockdetector A-Z of Christian Rock' is scheduled. Further Rock genres will be covered into the
future.
Any bands that fall within these categories please check their entries at www.rockdetector.com.
Any and all extra factual information will be added, especially looking for live photos. The more
you provide, the bigger your entry.
Garry Sharpe-Young had this to say on the forthcoming titles. "Rockdetector has had a quite
phenomenal response globally. The take up from bands and labels submitting information has been
much greater than expected. For some reason though we've been flooded by acts at the harder end
of the spectrum with melodic Rock & AOR labels being strangely slow off the mark. We include
everything we're sent, of any genre, so I'll put a call out to all melodic Rock labels to pull
their fingers out!"
The previous 400 page Rockdetector guides- 'Black Metal' and 'Death Metal' are both available
now. Both are at the top of their publishers best sellers list. The Ozzy Osbourne' biography is
scheduled for May release.
